The First Medina Mini-Lindy Exchange W/ Gordon Webster
We were so fortunate to host The Gordon Webster Jazz Septet, featuring vocalist Julia Weatherholtz, at Medina Lindy in the Village’s very first mini-Lindy exchange! The live concert and swing dance took place on June 15th.
We brought together the dance communities and jazz enthusiasts of Rochester, Buffalo, and Medina for an action-packed night of live music and dancing where those communities can showcased and shared their talents, unique styles, and love of jazz music with each other.
Special Lindy Hop dance performances added to the fun, including an improvised strictly Lindy phrase-spotlight and all-skate battle, and choreographed routines. These performances featured dancers from Rochester, Buffalo, and Medina.
For those who had been dancing for a while we had a special treat. Lindy Hop expert instructors Doriel Pryntz-Nadworny and Marta Pedrero taught a workshop beforehand entitled “Sharing the Stage – Helping Your Partner Shine”.
The concert and dance took place at Bent’s Opera House at: 444 Main Street Medina, NY 14103.
